1. National Gallery Children’s Biennale 2021

The Children’s Biennale is an event organised by the National Gallery once every 2 years. It’s back for its third edition this year, and it’s the first time that the event is adopting a hybrid physical plus digital format. The interactive digital artworks were live from 22 May 2021 while the physical installations will be available in the museum from 4 September 2021.

There are a total of 9 commissioned artworks by artists from Singapore and around the world. Through these interactive artworks and the free virtual events, the Biennale hopes to inspire children to learn through play and art.

2. Science Centre Singapore I Am A Young Geospatial Scientist Online Workshop

For the June Holidays, Science Centre Singapore has a Science At Home series with resources and online programmes available on their website. The I am a Young Geospatial Scientist workshop is a free online workshop conducted in collaboration with Singapore Land Authority. Through this 2-hour workshop, your kids will get to explore navigational tools, learn to read maps and locate points of interest.

Besides this workshop, there are a wide range of other programmes and workshops which are ticketed. You can check them out on Science Centre Singapore’s website.

3. National Museum of Singapore June Holidays Family Fun – Artefact Highlights: Show and Tell

The National Museum of Singapore has curated a bunch of digital activities under their June Holidays Family Fun programme. Artefact Highlights: Show and Tell is an online livestream conducted via Zoom, where you’ll get a glimpse of life during the 1980s and 90s through Singapore’s currency series and electronics.

Besides this free virtual event, there are also other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy together, including an interactive storytelling session, a theatrical production, and other workshops. Prices for these activities range from $10 – $70 per family.

4. Southern Islands Virtual Tour

For those who like exploring nature and the outdoors, this Southern Islands Virtual Tour is for you! This virtual tour is organised by the People’s Association and will be conducted by Karen Chen, a Singapore Tourism Board registered Specialised Nature Guide.

The tour will bring you around the many islands off the southern waters of Singapore, including Sister’s island, St John’s island, Lazarus island and Kusu island. Best part is that you can explore the islands in the comfort of your own home, whether rain or shine.
